Christopher Slaski read Music at Cambridge University and then specialised in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he studied with Sir Richard Rodney Bennett (Murder on the Orient Express, Four Wedding and a Funeral). He also attended Ennio Morricone’s classes ‘Musica per film’ at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, in Italy. He has British and Polish dual nationality and speaks English, Spanish and French. He divides his time between his studios in the UK, Spain and France and is a member of the European Film Academy. 

Working mainly in independent cinema, he has pursued his artistic activities across a wide range of genres and has worked in many areas of applied music including feature films, short films, documentaries, television, animation, theatre, commercials and video games. His concert music has been recorded by major orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra.

Feature film scores include Beyond The Sea, directed by and starring Kevin Spacey, experimental art-house film The Pianotuner Of Earthquakes directed by the Quay Brothers, Spanish romantic comedy Semen, Una Historia de Amor, thriller Proyecto Dos and social drama La Vergüenza, the Lebanese socio-political melodrama Rue Huvelin and the 2016 Austrian feature documentary A Good American, for which his score was nominated for the Austrian Film Award in 2017.

Christopher has also composed music for many short films, including Cuadrilátero, starring Mathieu Amalric and Tu o Yo which was premiered at the SEMINCI in Valladolid in 2015.

He has composed music for over 50 commercials including Carlsberg, Marks & Spencer, Compare The Market, Mercedes, British Airways, O2, Ancestry, More Than and Unilever; and his title music can be heard on various news and current affairs programmes. In addition he has created a large body of production music for Audio Network and other music libraries which is used all over the world.

His work in television include documentaries, animation films and dramas, notably the score for BAFTA-nominated TV film All About Me, directed by Beryl Richards.

His work for theatre includes the music for a Spanish production of Lope de Vega’s El Perro Del Hortelano directed by Laurence Boswell (Royal Shakespeare Company).

His concert work the Frank Lloyd Wright Suite was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and his Fanfare for Brass, Organ and Percussion was performed at a Royal Albert Hall Promenade Concert.

Commercial CD albums include the original soundtrack recording to The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes, A Good American and Film Works, a compilation album released in 2016 by Quartet Records.

He has been a jury member at various film festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film festival.
